Is he interested in getting involved in the family business? This past trip was very informative for him on that level - he even came to the bar to help me blow up and hang dick balloons! He’s got a much better idea of what Adonis and the gay shows are about now. It’s only over the past few years that he’s learned I’m in the nightclub and entertainment world, but he hasn’t really known too many of the details. That’s also been a slow and gradual process. Was there a time that you had to explain to him that you run a gay stripper business, or is that something that he’s always been aware of? But we make the best of the opportunities when we get the chance to see each other a few times per year. Plus, due to my work schedule and the fact that he’s on the East Coast, it’s tough to get adequate time in. He lives in North Carolina with his mom, and much of the past nine years since I moved to LA after rehab have been a slow and gradual building process to re-connect and build the trust and bonds required to have a solid parent-child relationship. How often do you get to spend time with your son? He even snapped a few photos of the inflatable dick balloons to show his buddies! He definitely got quite the shock, but he was laughing and taking it all in his stride. Other than him walking into my apartment to the sight of 10 inflatable dicks, Pride promo cards of half-naked dudes everywhere, and my computer screen being open to a page of naked male porn stars, it was great! I caught up with Matt to talk being a father in the world of gay strippers. It’s a family business, and Matt has recently had his 16-year-old son Braden visiting. Matt de Iturriaga and his brother Tim are the men behind the Adonis Lounge gay strip-club brand. (Matt de Iturriaga and his son Braden - image supplied) Here’s one of our recent articles that you might not have seen in your social media feeds. That’s okay, we’re not good at censoring ourselves. What we’ve found is that a lot of the articles that we write aren’t suitable for social media. We talk about health, we talk about life, we talk about relationships, and we talk about sex. They came in many colors, sizes (puns intended) and age ranges (20-year-old studs to full-blown muscle daddies) that made this event a dude buffet with many options on the table to enjoy. Here at Mainly Male we like to immerse ourselves in all aspects of being a gay men. Everything else was them in their birthday suit, which was thrilling to see. The room was filled with men who only had on a pair of shoes and a glistening smile. What I saw after walking in still blows my mind to this day. I’m always intrigued by things like this, so I took my best friend with me and entered the party with an open mind and some dollars in my pocket. I first knew about it many years ago when a friend of mine, who was in the adult industry at the time, was the party’s headliner one evening. Their naked party takes things to a whole other level outside of the traditional men walking around in booty shorts and dancing on a platform. Men would come in droves many nights a week to party and hang with scantily clad guys who exhibited what the meaning of being an Adonis is truly like. What started as a small idea in Brooklyn eventually became an m4m extravaganza across greater Manhattan. Adonis Lounge has been going on for the better part of the 2010 decade.
